On Saturday, November 7, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County is hosting a one-day Sexuality Education Advocacy Training program. Join with us as we learn and advocate in a multi-generational, interfaith gathering. You’ll develop a greater understanding of what comprehensive sexuality education is, its effect on the individual and society, and why it needs your voice to rise in support.The day will include a range of speakers from such sources as Widener University’s Human Sexuality graduate program, leaders of local religious communities, the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Advocacy and Witness Office in DC as well as others. There will be panel discussions, key note speakers, and activities covering comprehensive sex ed, it’s definition and alternatives; the rationale for faith based advocacy; a multi-generational examination of sexuality education from personal perspectives; the politics of sexuality education, the Responsible Education About Life (REAL) Act, all culminating in concrete actions to advocate.For registration please refer to http://www.uucdc.org/seat . The event is from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm and will be held at 145 West Rose Tree Road, Media PA 19063. There is a suggested donation of $7 to cover lunch and materials.
